GIS & Imagery Analysis
We use GIS and drone imagery analysis for forest management to help landowners clearly see their forest resources and make informed decisions. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allow us to combine stand data, terrain, access, and ownership information into a single, accurate picture of the property. When possible, we integrate high-resolution drone imagery to provide the most current and detailed view of forest conditions.

There are many things we can do with drone-captured aerial imagery. We can “stitch” images together to create an orthophoto map like the one above, and we can accurately measure the heights of the trees in the overstory canopy. We apply digital filters that can tell us about certain aspects of the forest’s health, and we can even create a 3D model like the we’ve animated below.
